Over 60 per cent of the world’s airports handle fewer than one million passengers, but Dubai stands out. For the past four years it remains the world’s top airport for international travellers. It is no surprise that a dedicated airport show has been staged every year in town since 2001.
Air Alliance had the opportunity to showcase its services and experience at the Dubai Airport Show in 2018. The show was held under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.
Thanks to a specific software linked to the exhibition website, we set more than 20 meetings with potential new clients and other exhibitors before the event started. We can proudly say that many relevant GCC, Middle East and South Asia aviation professionals expressed their interest in working with Air Alliance, appreciating our consolidated expertise in airport design and engineering.
Significant Civil Aviation Authorities – such as the Saudi Arabia Civil Aviation General Authority, Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, Dubai Civil Aviation – and Airport Operators – like Dammam Airports, Cairo Airport, Sialkot International Airport and Oman Airports – attended the event. We were honoured by their presence and we took the chance to highlight mutual interests and share business development strategies.
GRS Group advanced technology worth’s a note. We were impressed by their 3D laser scanner (also for scan to BIM process) and Ground Penetrating Radar and all the pavement surveying equipment and tools. They are definitely having an impact on technical surveying of airports.
We would have preferred to see more airport management companies as well as airport project funding institutions that would have further enhanced the already good level of the exhibition.
Unfortunately, we had to cancel our open company presentation as the available meeting rooms were too tiny and not properly equipped.
We appreciated the presence of EGIS, ADPI and DAR: some of the biggest engineering companies in the world that provide inspiration for Air Alliance vision and work. We look forward to attending the next business networking events to increase the Air Alliance network and opportunities to serve more prospective clients.
